El Nido, located at the northeastern tip of the stunning island of Palawan, is a paradise framed by limestone islands and crystal-clear shallow waters. It’s a tropical haven with warm temperatures and laid-back beach vibes, making it the ideal vacation spot. Whether you’re looking for adventure or relaxation, El Nido has plenty to offer. To make your stay unforgettable, here are seven experiences you absolutely can’t miss!

1. Treat Yourself to a Relaxing Massage

After a long journey or a busy day of exploring, there’s nothing better than unwinding with a traditional Filipino massage. Throughout El Nido, you’ll find small stalls and resorts offering a range of massages. We opted for a soothing session at Oriental Spa & Massage, a spacious, air-conditioned studio with an array of massage options. From the classic Filipino massage to hot stone and bamboo treatments, there’s something for everyone. We chose the combination massage, and after 60 minutes, we felt completely rejuvenated.

2. Explore the Local Market

Dive into Filipino culture by visiting El Nido’s bustling local market. Here, you’ll find fresh fruits and vegetables, seafood, handmade souvenirs, and unique clothing. The market is especially lively in the mornings when fishermen sell their catch and farmers offer their fresh produce. Don’t leave without trying exotic fruits like mangosteen, which has a tangy flavor similar to pineapple, oranges, and grapes, or the rambutan, a tropical treat often compared to lychee. You can also pick up handcrafted jewelry or artwork – perfect souvenirs to remember your trip.

3. Cool Off with a Bubble Tea

After a morning at the market or an adventure-packed day, there’s nothing like a refreshing bubble tea to cool down. El Nido has several bubble tea spots offering everything from classic milk teas to fruity variations. We stopped by Mozzi Cafe for a chilled milk tea, and the mix of refreshing tea and playful tapioca pearls was the perfect treat on a hot afternoon.

4. Take on the Canopy Walk

For thrill-seekers, the canopy walk is a must-do in El Nido. This adventure takes you across suspension bridges high in the treetops, offering breathtaking views of El Nido and its surroundings. The highlight is reaching the summit, where you’re rewarded with a stunning panorama of limestone cliffs and the turquoise waters below. It’s a short, manageable hike and a great way to spend a couple of hours if you’re looking for a quick excursion.

5. Savor Authentic Filipino Food

No trip to El Nido is complete without indulging in the delicious local cuisine. Take a break from international fare and dive into Filipino flavors. We dined at Cusina Charitos, where we enjoyed mouthwatering adobo and kare-kare. You’ll find many small restaurants and eateries in El Nido offering home-cooked dishes at affordable prices – authentic and satisfying!

6. Sip Cocktails with a View

After a day of exploring, it’s time to relax and enjoy a sunset cocktail on the beach. El Nido is famous for its scenic beach bars, serving up refreshing cocktails like mojitos, margaritas, and fruity tropical mixes. We loved the atmosphere at AP KALA, where we sipped delicious cocktails while taking in the stunning view of El Nido’s bay. Many bars also offer happy hour deals – double the fun with two drinks for the price of one!

7. Dance the Night Away at a Beach Club

If you’re still up for some fun after sunset, El Nido’s beach clubs are the place to be. With great music, lively crowds of locals and tourists, and a fantastic atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot to end the day on a high note. The Treehouse Beach Club is particularly known for its good vibes, tasty cocktails, and unbeatable views.

There’s no shortage of things to see and do in El Nido, and your trip will be anything but boring. Now that you’ve got a list of must-do activities, you’re all set for an unforgettable adventure.
