This itinerary takes you from Buenos Aires to jaw-dropping natural wonders and cultural gems.

Days 1-3: Buenos Aires – Argentina’s Captivating Capital

Kick off your journey in Buenos Aires, the cultural heart of the country. It’s a city buzzing with life, passion, and history, where European elegance meets the rhythm of the tango.

Day 1: After landing at Ezeiza Airport, head into the city. You can either grab a cab or arrange a convenient airport transfer to your accommodation.

Days 4-6: El Calafate and the Perito Moreno Glacier

Welcome to Patagonia, a region of stunning natural beauty! One of its most famous landmarks is the Perito Moreno Glacier—a sight you won’t want to miss.

Day 4: After a short flight, you’ll arrive in El Calafate, the gateway to Los Glaciares National Park. Check into a charming hotel and take it easy for the rest of the day. Stroll through the cozy town center and try the local specialty, Cordero Patagónico (Patagonian lamb).

Day 5: Today, embark on a full-day excursion to the Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the few glaciers in the world that’s still growing. You can easily get there by bus, or book a guided tour that includes transport and a guide to show you around.

Booking Tip: Guided Perito Moreno Glacier Excursion

Day 6: Consider joining a boat tour across Lago Argentino to see more glaciers, like the Upsala and Spegazzini glaciers. This scenic tour offers unbeatable views of both the glaciers and the surrounding mountains.

Days 7-9: El Chaltén – Hiking Paradise

Next, take a bus ride from El Calafate to El Chaltén, Argentina’s hiking mecca. The ride is about 2 hours and 40 minutes long.

Day 7: After arriving in El Chaltén, spend the rest of the day getting ready for your upcoming hikes. A walk to the Mirador de los Cóndores gives you a stunning first view of the mountains and valleys.

Day 8: Get ready for one of the most famous hikes in Argentina—the trail to Laguna de los Tres. The trail starts at the northern edge of the town of El Chaltén at the end of Avenida San Martín and leads through valleys, forests and to the foot of Mount Fitz Roy. There you will find the Campamento Río Blanco (a campsite for those who want to climb Mount Fitz Roy). Continue along the trail to the left of the campsite, where a steep, strenuous climb over loose scree begins. After the final effort, you will reach your destination and the breathtaking view of the turquoise glacial lake and the steep granite peaks. The entire hike takes around 8-10 hours.

Day 9: Another worthwhile hike is Laguna Torre, which takes around 6-7 hours. The hike to Laguna Torre in El Chalten starts at the official hiking trail at the end of the Los Charitos road. A sign indicates the start of the “Senda a Laguna Torre” in Los Glaciares National Park. The trail leads to the glacial lake, from where you have a fantastic view of Cerro Torre, one of the most difficult climbing peaks in the world.

After your adventures, take the bus back to El Calafate.

Days 10-12: Iguazú Falls – The World’s Largest Waterfalls

From Patagonia, head to northern Argentina to witness the majestic Iguazú Falls. Fly from El Calafate (with a stopover in Buenos Aires) to Puerto Iguazú.

Day 10: After a long travel day, unwind in your hotel, located on the edge of Iguazú National Park. The lush green surroundings are a welcome change from Patagonia’s rugged beauty.

Day 11: Spend today exploring the Argentinian side of the falls, where you can hike through the park and experience the waterfalls up close. The highlight is the jaw-dropping Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s Throat), the highest and most powerful section of the falls.

Booking Tip: Guided Iguazú Falls Tour

Day 12: Visit the Brazilian side of the falls, which offers a different but equally stunning perspective. Feeling adventurous? Take a boat ride under the falls for a thrilling and refreshing experience.
